How to Host a Glow Weapons Class

Why host a Glow Weapons class?
If the majority of your students are already doing weapons training, its hard to sell them more of the same weapons, or a special seminar with the same weapons they already do in class.  The solution: Change the Weapon!   Students or parents no longer see a Glow Weapons class as paying for more of the same.  It’s a completely different experience!  A Glow Weapons classes add the ability for school owners to generate a lot of extra revenue off of the material they already know how to teach.  The history of Glow Weapons classes goes back to 2008 when we first started, and they continue to be highly profitable events for every school owner to this day.  Are you missing out?

Huge Profits:
The average School owners charge $30-40 per student for a Glow Weapons class, and can have 30+ students per event, generating $1,000+ for a single class.  Most school owners get 3x the number of sign ups for a Glow Weapons class compared to other events!

Sign Up Sheets:
At least 1 month prior to your Glow Weapons class, put your sign up sheets out.  To make your job easier, we have Pemade Sign Up Sheets ready for you.  Just fill in the info and you are ready to start collecting sign ups!  Be sure to make your Pay By date early enough to allow for ordering and shipping time.  You can’t have a Glow Weapons class without Glow Weapons.  Also consider having a limited # of spots to increase the value of the class and urgency to sign up and pay.

The SECRET to a HUGE event:
What separates the schools that have HUGE events compared to small events?  A Lights Out Preview.  A school owner that just puts out a sign up sheet and doesn’t order weapons until the class will still have an average turn out.  But a school owner that makes a small investment, orders a couple of weapons to do a lights out preview 2-3 weeks before the class will have a HUGE return on investment!  You can talk about Glow Weapons, you can see a picture, or a sign up sheet, but once students see them in person, the sign ups roll in.  So plan ahead, order a couple of Glow Weapons several weeks ahead of time, turn out the lights one night in class, give them to one of your students or instructors to do a quick freestyle demo.  We guarantee you’ll have more sign ups from this method than anything else!

How much should you charge?
To make it simple, you sell the weapon and class together.  A good starting formula for maximum profit is charging about half the monthly rate for the Glow Weapons class.  So if you charge $100/month for classes, a maximum of $50 for the class is possible, but every school is different.

What time does it get dark?
Know what time it gets dark before scheduling your Glow Weapons class. If possible, scheduling the class after dark will eliminate having to black out any windows that may light up your workout floor during the class. This depends on the time of year it is, since during the winter its possible to host a Glow Weapon class any time after 5pm and it will be dark. During the summer, it may not get dark until 9pm, so you will need to completely black out any windows that may light up the workout floor in the least bit. The easiest and cheapest way to do this is with black painting plastic. This is found in the painting section of most stores, and is a solid black color.

Making your class different:
Create a different atmosphere for this event.  Add some strands of lights around the edge of the workout floor or any obstacles.  Have the lights already dimmed when students come in the door.  Make your place look as different as possible.  Party lights?  Why not?  And if you don’t use music in classes, put some together for this event, and have it playing as students arrive.  If you  already use music, get a new playlist put together.  Change everything the students experience with their eyes and ears.  Other fun things you can do is give students glow necklaces for the event.  Its fun and helps keep track of where everyone is in the dark.  For the actual event, the strikes are the same that you already teach, just come up with new combos, a special form for that night, or unique partner drills.  We always finish our classes with a battle at the end, where we split into 2 teams, call 1 from each side and they try to outperform each other.  Whatever you do, just have fun in your Glow Weapons party and kids will remember it and be ready for another one in a couple of months.  We have many different types of Glow Weapons, so you can host classes year round!
